This piece depicts Am Basteir, a munro peak within the Black Cuillin mountain range on the Isle of Skye. It forms a narrow blade of rock, which bears comparison with the Inaccessible Pinnacle in the same range.
Relief printing lends itself to bold shapes, perfect for interpreting the abstract rock formations found in the Cuillin. The process is all done by hand, from the embossing to the application of the ink. Each print has the height of the munro embossed above.
An A5 mono-relief print, hand printed onto 100% cotton rag paper. Hand signed by the artist and titled with the munro name. Due to their handmade nature each piece will vary from the image.
Prints come packaged flat on board wrapped in cellophane or rolled in a tube.
